This is done by providing ideas, advice and encouragement gathered from across the PR and comms world which is delivered in a way designed to give members practical help to enhance their careers and work.

This document details from the outset the way in which we will deliver this service to you, what is part of the core membership, what may be offered temporarily and what to expect.

If you are planning to join pr-ology.com, (“the Membership”) then you must read these terms and conditions in full and agree to them prior to purchasing.

Membership Terms & Conditions (‘Terms’): Key Details

These Terms cannot be varied and in proceeding to purchase the Membership you will be deemed to have accepted these Terms.

The Terms set out below apply to the services offered by pr-ology.com and thepublicrelationspodcast.com. Please read them carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under law and set out the Terms under which pr-ology.com and thepublicrelationspodcast.com (“we”, “our” or “us”) provide services to you, as a purchaser of the Membership.

These Terms are subject to any rights you have under consumer law to which we are bound and which cannot be waived by contract.

Please be aware that we may update these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Membership indicates your acceptance of the terms and agreement to any changes.

Membership Outline

pr-ology.com is a membership platform for public relations and communications people who want to stand out in their jobs. By “standing out”, we mean helping our members solve problems they face in their working days which cause blocks to their success, happiness or career progression.

We define “public relations” as anything to do with developing relationships between an organisation or individual and the public. We cover any topic related to that flow from planning to execution to human elements such as issues related to the practitioner of these skills. Anything we deem may help a member perform this role may be included. In respect of this, please ensure you read the guarantees section below.

The Membership is an ongoing commitment where members get regular support and guidance in this goal.

It is targeted particularly at people in small PR or comms teams, or working solo in organisations and businesses of any size (private/public/NGO), government, and small PR agencies.

There is an assumption in all the content that you have been working in a related role for at least 6 months and understand the basic principles of public relations. While we cover a lot of basic skills, this is not a “PR 101” but a membership designed to enhance the success of those already working in this sphere.

The membership is suitable for anyone over the age of 18.

Membership Specifics

The core component of the pr-ology.com membership, as relates to the Membership is:-

  • An advice library of information that members can use to help them in their day-to-day public relations or comms work.

Additional features may be added or removed at any time. Our goal is to find the best methods to help the largest number of people. These may include (but no promise or guarantee is given) the following.

  • Regular video updates specifically for members
  • Live Masterclasses (of any duration or frequency)
  • Live or text-based Q&A Sessions
  • A growing content library
  • A messaging service to ask for additional personalised advice.

We may add or remove additional features at any time.

Self-Study Library

pr-ology.com core offer is to provide do-it-yourself training resources available for members to consider in their own time.

This will be available via the website.

The library will contain practical advice aimed at helping members solve specific challenges they face throughout their day. This may be delivered in website articles which contain text, video or audio, additional resources and frameworks. The exact content will depend on the topic and how we deem it can best be delivered at our discretion.

The platform will begin with minimal content. Early adopters will find considerably less content than the goal pr-ology.com has in mind. Prices will be set to reflect that. As the value of the membership grows, the price will rise in line with our pricing policy below. Please note, grandfather rights may be applicable to members who are able to keep their sign-up fee at the same rate.

Other features we may offer

– Masterclasses

We “may” offer periodic live or recorded master classes. We make no guarantees as to the frequency or content but if offered will be focused on topic related to this membership.

The masterclasses will be led by any member of the pr-ology.com team or by an expert trainer or person with experience in the public relations/comms field. It may not be led by Richard Midson (pr-ology.com’s founder). From time to time the host may also be joined by guests, other members, or expert trainers or advisors.

Sessions will be provided on a leading webinar platform in order to achieve high levels of access. We can’t guarantee, however, that all member’s computer systems or devices will be able to connect. Responsibility for connection to these platforms is the sole responsibility of the member and no costs may be claimed in this regard from pr-ology.com.

pr-ology.com does not provide equipment as part of the membership. If any platform used by pr-ology.com is changed, no compensation will be offered if the member is then unable to connect to the new platform. We recommend seeking technical advice.

If a session is live it will be recorded and made available via the pr-ology.com website for at least a month. All participants will be advised that their presence will be recorded in advance and agree to those conditions if they take part.

– Membership communication tools

We “may” offer a method of reaching out directly to members of the pr-ology.com team and expert advisors.

The data submitted within these forms is private to those involved in the conversation, with the exception of site admins of pr-ology.com who may also view these messages.

While we use security plugins and maintain our system on reliable platforms we can’t guarantee that your data is always safe and therefore strongly advise members not to submit information which may be legally sensitive, breach any NDA (non-disclosure) agreements or may defame, hurt or cause harm in any manner to any individual or organisation. pr-ology.com will not accept any responsibility, liability, or costs as a result of the information being shared in this manner.

The number of interactions, frequency and length of interactions both in terms of the length of the message thread or message size may also be limited based on the membership level of the participants.

This service will use a platform deemed suitable by the pr-ology.com team. This platform or website plugin may change at any time.

– Question & Answer Sessions

We “may” offer Q&A sessions (video, audio or text-based) that is live or Async (ie not real-time).

In the event of this being offered, members will be invited to submit questions in advance to be discussed in that session. These must be submitted at least 15 minutes before the session starts or it may be possible to ask a question during a session.

The length of sessions, the number of questions handled and the choice of questions used in that session will be determined solely by the pr-ology.com team at their discretion in order to deliver the best value to members.

– Revamp BootCamp

We “may” offer a specific course tailored to helping members refresh their core public relations skills.

The course will cover core PR skills taken from the core content library.

The course will be self-led with no time limit. Success will depend on the willingness of the participant to use the resources provided and their own personal determination and abilities to exercise that.

No course can cover all aspects of a topic and members will be deemed to have sufficient base knowledge to be able to fill in gaps or areas they may feel are missing within this content. Please remember this membership is not targetted at complete beginners in this space.

pr-ology.com runs a very strict operation when it comes to behaviour.

We expect and require all members to be polite and respectful at all times in order to facilitate an environment where members and the pr-ology.com team are free to express their thoughts, ideas, successes and failures.

We expect robust discussions but it must always be framed in a positive, constructive way whereby it is made how someone is helping a member move forward.

It is unacceptable to be rude or offensive at any time to any members of the site or pr-ology.com team.

Should your behaviour be deemed offensive or inappropriate we will remove you from the Membership with immediate effect at our sole discretion. We will not enter arbitration. A refund for the time remaining on the current subscription will be refunded. The member will not be able to rejoin the platform at any point again in future even under a different username. If the site admins believe someone is using an alias they will also be removed from the platform.

Should we do this we will provide advance notice so that you can decide whether to consider your subscription. We shall never increase your membership fees without providing at least 28 days’ notice and without providing you with advance notification.

Refunds and Cancellation

It is our aim that you will be completely happy with the Membership. However, we appreciate that there may come a time when you wish to leave the Membership.

As you have “instant access” to the Membership resources you will not be entitled to a refund of your subscription fees should you join and then wish to leave.

Please consider the detail of the Membership CAREFULLY before purchasing and get in touch to ask any questions about suitability.

You will not be entitled to a refund if you change your mind due to the instant access nature of this platform. Your statutory refund rights are not affected and trial periods may be offered as an alternative.

Should you wish to cancel your Membership you must give 28 days’ written notice by emailing info@pr-ology.com. If you do not hear back from us within 7 days, please reach out to us via any other method we offer including social media.

Notwithstanding any right or remedy available to us, we may cancel your Membership with immediate effect :

  • If you fail to pay your Membership fees by the relevant due date;
  • If you commit a repudiatory breach of the Terms of this agreement;
  • As decided at our sole discretion from time to time in circumstances such as behaviour, conduct or any other scenario we deem to be in contradiction with the aims of the project at our sole discretion.

We also reserve all rights to cancel this membership, the pr-ology.com site and the programme for any reason without prior notice. In such circumstances, a refund will be provided for the remainder of that month or year or duration of current subscription as applicable.

Chargebacks – Where you cancel with the bank or ask the bank to demand a refund

Chargebacks are when someone rejects a payment on a credit card by going through the payment provided after it has been paid and confirmed by the bank.

The bank then not only charges us the refund, but also a fee and it damages our credit rating with them.

Considering these have such a large impact on what is a small project the following terms apply.

If you wish to cancel your membership then are always welcome to as long as you are within any notice period. Simply tell us or use the cancellation option in your account. If you have problems we can always help. There is a notice (refund) period otherwise we would not be able to provide the service and this is made clear in the sign up flow which you agreed to.

If a chargeback is launched 1) your account will be immediately suspended 2) you will be removed from all lists (including free lists) 3) you will not able to join any event or feature offered by us on both PR-ology or The Public Relations Podcast 4) Any other login-protected areas that we provide will be removed. 5) We will not reply to any correspondence beyond advising how to remove the chargeback or confirmation that the chargeback has been cancelled.

If the chargeback is won in our favour, whereby the bank agrees with our terms, there will be a $50USD administration fee to unlock your account again to pay for the additional administration that was involved as well as any new membership fees due. We will then re-activate the account at the next opportunity once these funds are confirmed and paid and cleared by our bank. If both fees are not paid, the account will remain suspended indefinitely and no new users associated with your organisation will be able to join either.

If the chargeback is found in your favour and you wish to recover access to the member area or speak to us on either the podcast or PR-ology, there will be a 100USD administration fee to cover our costs and the impact to the project, as well as any other fees owed. The account will also be considered to be a new user and will be billed for renewal at the current new member price. Until then, all access will remain suspended and your IP address will be blocked whether you have time remaining on your current subscription or not.

It is very easy to avoid to chargebacks. Please consider whether this membership matches your needs before signing up and talk to us about cancellations rather than going to the bank.
